LITTLE PICKLES BABY MASSAGE COURSE
Our Baby Massage course runs for 4 weeks and suitable for babies 6 weeks to crawling
We will cover the many benefits of massage whilst learning a full body routine, including specific steps to assist with the symptoms of Colic, Constipation and Teething.
Handouts are supplied each week to support practice at home between sessions
The practice of massage is believed to date back thousands of years, evidence of massage has been found in many of the great civilisations as early as 3000 BCE.
Baby massage has many benefits and in countries like Africa and India, massage has been an integral part of the day for centuries. Skills are traditionally passed down from generation to generation.
Babies are also carried and held for a larger proportion of the day, normally in a sling either by the mother whilst they work or by other family members. Babies are reassured by this constant touch, research has shown that these babies cry less and have better sleep patterns.
Importance of touch
When a parent holds their baby, all their senses are employed. This generates a feeling of trust, love, protection and calmness.
Massage stimulates production of the hormone Oxytocin (often referred to as the love hormone) this produces a calming and pain relieving effect, whilst promoting the bond between parent and child.
By touching, holding and massaging our babies we are relaxing, comforting and reassuring them

Baby Massage can help to relieve muscular tension, growing pains and nasal congestion. Massage also aids the function of the digestive system, helping to relieve symptoms of Colic, Reflux and Constipation.

During our 4 week course, you will learn a full body massage routine for your baby, along with specific sequences to assist with the symptoms of Colic, Constipation and Teething.
Massage is a great way to start a bedtime routine, ideal after a nice warm bath. The perfect way to help your baby to relax and wind down ready for sleep
